We’ve been in the business of helping your businesses thrive for over 20 years, 24 to be exact. In that time, we’ve grown from a one-man idea to become one of the top acquirers in the United States. 2000

Setting out on the Electronic Payments mission

As a student at Boston College, our CEO, Michael Nardy saw an expanding, yet underserved market of local entrepreneurs overpaying for merchant services. Knowing there was an opportunity to help, Michael enlisted the support of classmate Matthew Findlan (now our COO) to develop the Electronic Payments mission: to provide small to medium-sized businesses with affordable payment processing and essential merchant services.

2006

From humble beginnings

Through the early 2000s, Electronic Payments operated out of the small office pictured below. In 2006, finding that we would need a bigger space to accommodate our growing team, we moved our headquarters to Calverton, NY, where we still proudly operate today.

2007

Branching out into gift cards

In 2007, we launched eGiftSolutions® to give small retailers and restaurants across the country the ability to offer gift cards, increase exposure, and drive revenue―just like the big box stores and chain restaurants. Today, eGiftSolutions continues to be a cost-effective means for merchants to offer branded and virtual gift cards, multiple location and franchise options, marketing assistance, and fulfillment services—all with free processing.

2011

A customer support milestone

2011 marked a huge achievement for our Technical Support team—five years with zero hold times for callers! With a commitment to continuous improvement and unparalleled expertise, our highly trained technical support staff now has nearly 130 years of experience between them and continues to deliver industry-leading service.

2012

Expanding to a second location

To continue our company’s expansion and house our ever-growing team, we opened our second office in South Florida, where the majority of our Technical Support, Merchant Support, Development, File Build, and other departments are now based.

Growing recognition

In 2012, we had the honor of being recognized as an Inc. 500/5000 honoree for the fifth consecutive year and by Deloitte Technology Fast 500™ for the third consecutive year.

2013

Accessible mobile payments

In 2013, we launched ProCharge’s mobile application enabling businesses to turn their mobile devices into handheld points of sale. Now, they can process payments, refund customers, and reconcile sales on the go—anytime, anywhere! ProCharge is an economical solution that helps small businesses expand and drive sales.

2015

Exatouch® Point of Sale

In 2015, Electronic Payments acquired Exatouch® Point of Sale—an affordable, versatile POS that helps small businesses increase sales, streamline operations, improve customer service, and grow profits.

2016

In-house fulfillment service

In 2016, we opened our dedicated shipping and receiving facility, just down the street from our Calverton, NY office. All payment and POS equipment that we build and provision in-house is deployed to merchants all over the country from this location.

2019

Enhanced support for restaurants

TableTurn®, our revolutionary restaurant management platform, launched in 2019. This advanced, yet accessible technology offers restaurants using POS systems, including MICROS® and Exatouch, essential tools like EMV with tip adjust, pay-at-table and curbside, mobile and contactless payments, a digital billfold, and much more.

2020

20 years of service

2020 marked two decades of innovation at EPI, over 150 full-time staff members and 1,000 agents, and over $14 billion in annual transaction volume. We’re proud to have made it to twenty years by helping merchants succeed in their own businesses.

This milestone anniversary year was made even more special by the announcement that CEO Michael Nardy was named to the Electronic Transactions Association’s Forty Under 40 List of Innovative Payment Executives, underscoring Michael’s contributions to advancing our industry with tangible payment solutions.

Our inaugural IMPACT conference

We commemorated Electronic Payments’ 20th anniversary at our virtual IMPACT 2020 event! This momentous year was the perfect time to transition our annual Founder’s Club event to IMPACT, a conference designed to position our company and partners for success in the next decade of payments and point of sale.

2021–2024

Always improving technology

In the few years since our twenty year anniversary, we’ve continued to focus on providing the best comprehensive payment solutions in the business. In addition to developing new innovative products that meet the needs of our merchants, like our very own DeliverMe® Online Ordering system for restaurants and QSRs, we evolve our existing technologies in meaningful ways to ensure they’re accessible and impactful. We’re proud that our home-grown solutions have brought powerful payment and business management capabilities into more hands.

Cygma®

One of our most significant advancements was the launch of Cygma®, our wholly-owned processor, in 2023. This platform presents new opportunities to our partners and merchants, including same-day funding, competitive pricing, and support for even more merchant verticals, including CBD, smoke/vape, and adult retailers.

Continuing to BUILD PARTNERSHIPS with IMPACT

Since our first IMPACT conference in 2020, we’ve continued to bring the entire community together every year with unprecedented opportunities and events. Our premier IMPACT program provides immersive networking experiences, focused training and education, leadership one-on-ones, an interactive POS Lab—plus great food, fun, and entertainment.
