Small Business Tips
As a company that serves local business owners and customers, Electronic Payments is proud to join with American Express to support the 10th annual Small Business Saturday® this November 30th.
Small Business Saturday was founded by American Express in 2010 to help strengthen local economies. Today, it’s a holiday shopping tradition and part of a nationwide Shop Small® Movement dedicated to supporting all kinds of small businesses. From the corner store to your favorite diner to a trendy online boutique, it’s unique small businesses like yours that help local communities stay vibrant.
Participating in Small Business Saturday is a great way to reach new customers and promote your business. Here are some tips for getting involved:
Let your customers know that you plan to participate in Small Business Saturday. Visit AmericanExpress.com/Participate for free promotional tools and materials, including social templates that let you show your support and tell your Small Business Saturday story.
Connect with your community. Contact your local chamber of commerce to see how your business can participate in Small Business Saturday events and promotions.
If you accept American Express® Cards, your business could get recommended to potential customers. In 2018, nearly 17 million people received recommendations on where to shop.* Learn more at AmericanExpress.com/PromoteYourBusiness.
You can also help attract more customers by displaying signage on your storefront or website. You’ll show Card Members you accept American Express and that you’re ready for their business. Get your free signage at AmericanExpress.com/Signage.
A supporter of Small Business Saturday since 2012, Electronic Payments actively encourages consumers across the United States to Shop Small. The movement aligns perfectly with Electronic Payments’ mission and belief statements:
We help small to midsize businesses prosper with innovative, affordable, and reliable payment processing services backed by 24/7, in-house support.
We believe small to midsize businesses deserve a payment processing and point of sale partner who puts their success and needs first.
Supporting local businesses is in our company’s DNA. As part of our endorsement of Shop Small, we’re using our blog and social media pages to promote the program and encourage merchants and their consumers to participate.
*Based on Amex recommendations made throughout 2018. American Express cannot guarantee your business will appear in a search on American Express Maps.
Merchants are displayed via American Express Maps, AmericanExpress.com, and email.

It can sometimes be difficult to get an answer or a sensitive ear for an issue you may be having. Or, you may just need help reaching the right department. Who handles paper shipments? Who programs my equipment? What if I don't like my sales rep? How do I reach your CEO? Sometimes, it just helps having a direct email address which goes to a person that can "get the job done."
