Jr. Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst

Electronic Payments is an industry leader in developing and delivering innovative payment processing and point of sale (POS) solutions for retail and restaurant merchants nationwide. We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) to support our operations in Boca Raton, Florida. This position will be part of the team responsible for conducting manual testing of our various payment and POS products.

We are seeking a hands-on software Jr. QA Analyst with experience in testing software products and creating test documentation. The Jr. QA Analyst’s main role is to continuously improve the quality of the application while adhering to defined timelines. Excellent organizational skills, planning, attention to detail, and time management are a must. The ideal candidate is passionate and has a desire to learn and embrace new, cutting-edge software and technology. You must also have a positive outlook, outgoing personality, and be willing to suggest testing process improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify test requirements from specifications, map test case requirements, and design test plans
  • Effectively communicate with the engineering team by discussing and documenting defects, tracking them through completion, and validating that they have been resolved
  • Design and execute manual test cases and accurately report test results
  • Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements
  • Complete backend database testing in Microsoft SQL environment, including creating and running stored procedures, jobs, and triggers. (This can be taught on the job)

Job Requirements:

  • Possess a basic understanding of quality assurance and testing methodologies (i.e., planning, scripting, testing and regression testing)
  • Have a demonstrated ability to manage multiple, parallel initiatives and meet established deadlines
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, including written and verbal communication
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills. You should be the person everyone wants to hang out with! We are looking for candidates where people often say how much they like working with you!
  • Possess some experience working with software or on a development team. Tell me about a project you made with friends. How did you make sure the software worked? Have you ever told developers about a bug in a video game? How did you explain to them how to recreate the issue?

Desired Skills:

  • Background in testing across platforms is a plus
  • Strong technical, analytical, and conceptualization skills
  • Ability to provide technical alternatives, recommend solutions, and participate in implementation
  • Expertise in multi-tasking with the ability to manage multiple projects in various stages of scoping, requirements, design, and development
  • Enjoy collaborating, and working close with a development team
  • Ability to work and produce required results without close supervision
  • Possess a strong work ethic and positive attitude; be a self-starter
  • Point of sale or payments industry experience a plus (Have you worked as a cashier or wait staff?)

Must be available to work in the Boca Raton, Florida office.
